Your home should be comfortable, welcoming and reflect your unique character. Creating such a space is one of life’s greatest pleasures.
AT HOME WITH ART

CHOOSING ART Why we choose a particular piece of art speaks volumes. Our homes should hold meaningful artwork, whether filled with pieces or just the one that you cherish. Choose art that represents your interests, life events, places travelled etc. or just because you love it.

SETTING Any art we choose to display will integrate with other art, objects and furniture in a room. Different spaces will present art in very different ways. Harmonize a piece within a room by relating subject matter to other objects, the colour scheme or pairing it with complimentary art.

THEME Some art falls naturally into groups and some needs plenty of space to stand alone. Hang art within a theme, such an architectural series or botanical set, for a very stylish and more formal look.
Consider too a juxtaposition of artworks. A mixture of types and styles makes for a more informal result, such as selecting from different sources, artists, countries, children’s art or your own.

TRAVEL + INTEREST Creating your chosen world in a room, whether an actual traveller or participant, serves to broaden your horizons and interest. Each piece will have a personal story to tell.

MOOD If we take an emotion or mood that we would like to provoke, we can select a picture that makes us feel this way. Subliminally, art can create feelings of joy, calm, passion etc. in a space.
STATEMENT Art is a powerful communicator that can serve to divide and unite us. It can make a statement for us without having to express it in actions or words.

FAMILY + OCCASION A pleasure to have around are photos of family, life events, images from childhood, sporting achievements and personal passions. If a display of family photographs is too personal a statement, then choose a theme for your art as a celebration or mark of an occasion.
