Please read over and agree to the following terms and conditions before submitting a file to the File Upload or Academic Upload.
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS OF USE
Vivid Print Inc. ("Vivid Print") provides its website and in-store services (“Site and Services”) subject to the following Terms of Use (“Terms”). Vivid Print reserves the right to change these from time to time without notice by posting new Terms on the Vivid Print website. Please refer to the Terms of Use periodically for any changes.
2. OWNERSHIP OF THE SITE
This site is owned and operated by Vivid Print. All content included on our site, such as prints, photographs, illustrations, images and text (referred to as "Content") is owned by Vivid Print or our Content providers. All Content is protected by Canadian and International copyright laws.
3. USE OF CONTENT
You may not copy, reproduce, republish, download, post, broadcast, transmit or otherwise use the Content in any way. You also agree not to adapt, alter or create a derivative work from any Content. Any other use of Vivid Print Content requires the prior written permission of Vivid Print or relevant copyright owners.
4. DISCLAIMERS
Although we use our reasonable best efforts to ensure accuracy, we make no representations or warranties as to the reliability of the Content. There may be technical inaccuracies, typographical or other errors. Our Site may link to other websites that may be of interest but are not under our control, and for which we are not responsible for the availability or of the content.
5. PRICING
All prices are in Canadian Dollars. Prices, products and services may change at Vivid Print’s discretion.
6. PAYMENT
All prices are exclusive of GST (where applicable) and are correct at the time of entering the information onto our database. The total cost of your order is the price of products and services ordered, plus any wastage charges that may apply, plus GST. Additional design, production, finishing charges may apply.
Academic projects ordered, due to time constraints, automatically disclaims the need for an estimate unless otherwise clearly indicated at the time of ordering. Requesting an estimate, other additional services, or finishing to an academic print will add time and cost to the overall piece. Every effort has been made to be clear about all charges involved.
All credit and debit card holders will be subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your card refuses to authorise payment to us we will not be able to process your order, nor will we be liable for any delay or non-delivery of product(s) as a result.
Payment is due before or at time of pickup or delivery.
7. ORDERING AND UPLOADING
Uploading to the Vivid Print website or placing an order in store is confirmation of having read and agreed to our terms and conditions of service. Unless an estimate is requested at the time of ordering or uploading to “File Upload”, submitting a file in store or via the website upload is a confirmation of a order placed, and the payment for which is due upon completion by Vivid Print. Submitting an order via the “Academic Upload” is a confirmation of a order placed, and the payment for which is due upon completion by Vivid Print.
8. TURNAROUND
Our turnaround times are our best estimate in normal conditions for each process but are approximate. Turnaround time is determined by scheduling to our various printers along with design and production scheduling. Every effort is made to be within our turnaround estimates. Any deadlines required should be indicated at the time of ordering.
9. PRIVACY POLICY
Your privacy is very important to Vivid Print. Vivid Print collects your personal information to carry out the transactions you have requested and only the transactions you have requested. Vivid Print will not disclose your personal information to third parties.
Unless otherwise indicated Vivid Print may use thumbnails of projects as examples on our website. In most cases the client will be contacted for permission. If the current website displays a project of yours and you wish it to be removed, please notify Vivid Print immediately.
Occasionally Vivid Print will reprint pieces to showcase in our showroom as examples and not for sale. Those owning the Content of such pieces will be notified and consent given prior to their appearance in our gallery.
Digital files from projects are kept in our archives for two years unless otherwise indicated by the client of those files. These files are used for reprints requested by the original customer only.
10. COPYRIGHT + INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY POLICY
It is solely and without exception the responsibility of the person providing pictures to Vivid Print, by upload or otherwise, to ensure that they have the permission of the copyright owner to use the image. We may refuse service of those who appear to infringe the copyright or other intellectual property rights of others.
If you believe that your content has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright and/or trademark infringement, please notify Vivid Print immediately.
11. CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY
Every piece ordered through this site and our store is custom made, which means that unfortunately we are not able to offer you a refund or a cancellation once the order has been made and/or uploaded. However, this does not affect your statutory rights.

Please read over and agree to the following terms and conditions for academic printing before submitting a file to the Academic Upload. By adhering to these guidelines, we are able to keep our academic pricing and services so very reasonable.
12. COST OF POSTERS
We offer two substrates specific for academic printing, a matte bond paper at $2.50 per square foot, and a satin photopaper at $5 per square foot. There is a minimum charge of $15 on matte and $20 on satin per piece. Files must be print ready with multiple page documents to be printed as “Booklet” or layed out on a 24” or 36” wide document.
13. ACADEMIC PRICING
You must be a staff member or currently registered student of one of the following institutions: University of Alberta, MacEwan, NAIT, Alberta Health Services, Alberta Cancer Board and Edmonton Public Schools. Print must be for academic purposes only.
14. FILE SETUP
Files to be at output dimensions and correct resolution, with a half-inch margin allowance, fonts and images outlined/embedded or included, no transparencies or gradients. Review software specific notes on the Academic page regarding colour and file requirements.
15. ADDITIONAL CHARGES
Production fees apply for projects that require setup or extra work. Our design services are provided by professionals with more than 10 years industry experience, with a rate of $75/hr for design and $50/hr for production. Other services available are listed on the Academic page.
16. TURN-AROUND
Same-day means if you submit before 10am on weekdays then your print will be ready that same day before 6pm at Vivid Whyte. Any files submitted after 10am are considered as having met the deadline of the following day. More time is required for any estimating, design, production, laminating, mounting or delivery. In order to be fair across the board for any academic print, these timelines are critical to adhere to.
17. RUSH CHARGES
A rush fee of $20 applies to prints needing a shorter turn-around time or for a file needing work to make print ready. This is still providing that there is room in our production schedule to accommodate the project.
18. REFUND POLICY
We are happy to reprint or refund any output that is unacceptable, with the following exceptions:
1. The output is unacceptable due to client error.
2. Colours or images are not what the client expected, and the output matches closely to our on screen file. (We offer test strips for colour conscious clients.)
3. The client decides to use the print even with any flaws, or is unable to return the rejected print.
