Hauling grain to Vulcan 1928

At one time the town of Vulcan, Alberta boasted seven grain elevators. It now has one elevator in the town and two in the surrounding areas.

Dating primarily from the 1920s through the 1940s, the photographs of W.J. Oliver chronicled life in and around Calgary. In addition to capturing the streets and people of Calgary, his images recorded the Calgary Stampede, outdoor activities at Vermilion Lakes, Waterton, Banff and Jasper National Parks, and his own family at their Diamond L Ranch.
